Overview
The issue of tobacco use disparities in the justice-involved population is a largely ignored public health problem. Attendees will understand risk factors for tobacco use disparities among justice involved individuals, components of the criminal justice system, and opportunities to address tobacco use disorders within the criminal justice system. Clinicians will understand tobacco use within the justice involved population as a health equity and social justice issue, risk factors for tobacco use within the justice involved population, and risk factors for smoking relapse upon release.
